The Goodman-Legrand House & Museum is a delight for historians, enthusiasts of historic homes, and antique lovers. This Tyler landmark brings the past to the present with original family furnishings, photographs, Civil War artifacts, and memorabilia datings from the early 1800s. Named Bonnie Castle by original owner, this Greek Revival cottage was built in 1859 on a parcel of 9 acres in Tyler. Smith joined the Confederate States Army in 1861 and sold Bonnie Castle to local Tyler teacher F.N. Gary, who never resided in the house. Tours of the house tell the story of the history of the area and families who lived there.
